About the role
- Serve as the primary administrator and owner of the HRIS (e.g., Workday, UKG, ADP, Dayforce), managing system configuration, integrations, and data governance.
- Lead the implementation of a new HRIS, including requirements gathering, vendor selection, and change management.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure successful system migration, testing, and user adoption.
- Develop, automate, and maintain HR dashboards and analytics that support strategic business decisions.
- Drive continuous improvement through automation and process optimization to enhance HR and payroll efficiency.
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to the payroll team, ensuring consistent, accurate, and timely processing across multiple states.
- Oversee payroll policies, controls, and compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations as well as Department of Labor (DOL) wage and hour laws.
- Serve as the company’s subject matter expert on payroll tax compliance, audits, and reporting.
- Partner with Finance and external auditors on payroll-related reconciliations, filings, and compliance reviews.
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure system and procedural updates as required.
- Design and deliver reports and dashboards to meet compliance, audit, and leadership needs.
- Conduct regular audits of HRIS and payroll data to ensure integrity and accuracy.
- Oversee tax filings and year-end reporting, including W-2s, 1099s, and ACA compliance.
- Ensure all documentation and recordkeeping meet internal and regulatory standards.
- Partner with Total Rewards, HR, Finance, and IT to ensure system alignment and data consistency.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and development to payroll staff, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Support HR and Finance leaders in data-driven strategic planning and decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5–8 years of progressive HRIS and payroll experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, UKG, ADP, Dayforce) and overseeing multi-state payroll operations.
- Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills.
- Advanced Excel and HR analytics capabilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Hands-on experience leading an HRIS implementation project strongly preferred.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and/or HRIS certification (e.g., Workday Pro, UKG Pro) preferred.
