About the role
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 15+ body and paint technicians
- Drive daily production, cycle times, and throughput to meet or exceed targets
- Ensure high-quality repairs and refinishing standards across all work completed
- Oversee job scheduling, work distribution, and shop workflow optimization
- Manage department profitability, including labor efficiency, materials usage, and cost control
- Partner with estimating, parts, and operations teams to ensure smooth job execution
- Maintain strong relationships with fleet customers and key accounts
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies
- Monitor KPIs such as turnaround time, rework rates, and gross profit margins
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of progressive experience in heavy truck or commercial vehicle body and paint repair
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing 15+ technicians in a body/paint environment
- Strong technical expertise in: Frame and suspension repair, Body panel repair (steel, aluminum, fiberglass, composite), Commercial vehicle refinishing processes
- Deep knowledge of modern paint systems, including color matching, blending, and refinishing techniques
- Proven ability to hit production goals, maintain quality, and control costs
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to hold teams accountable and drive performance.
