About the role
- Support the Engineering & Production departments of Sumter Metal Products
- Produce high-quality metal fabricated assemblies in an efficient and cost-effective manner
- Ensure on-time delivery to customers
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and assembly details for fabrication
- Manage or assist in engineering and fabrication of Motive Power trays, layouts, components, and accessories
- Provide drafting and CAM support using AutoCad, SolidWorks and Windchill
- Manage and create new/revised materials for entry into SAP
Requirements
- Two year degree or equivalent certification or 4-years experience in design engineering or design-related engineering proven work history of AutoCad/ Drafting / Solid Works
- above average computer skills in Microsoft Office Software
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, check drawing accuracy, use formulas involving area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to understand and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
