About the role
- Responsible for supporting the development, enhancement, and maintenance of organizational relationships with HVAC manufacturers, distributors, and contractors.
- Travel to trade ally/market actor locations with the goal of driving energy efficiency incentive program performance, building rapport, and solidifying connection(s)
- Serve as a go-to resource and conduit between Energy Solutions program leads and Outreach and Trade Ally Team (OTAT)
- Track market activity and developments to develop in-depth knowledge and the ability to accurately predict market activity.
- Contribute to and support outreach plans for new programs (program launch) and existing programs
- Analyze program-level participation statistics, market and economic data, and regulatory activity to determine sales potential and monitor performance trends
- Contribute to the development of trade ally and market actor relationships – managing and building out best practice documentation relating to trade ally and market actor relationships
- Develop familiarity with public data resources and finding relevance to Energy Solutions’ strategic interests, and report development as appropriate
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in energy-related discipline with policy, environmental, business administration, or related preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of related work experience or tenure in a related position
- Willingness to conduct local business travel and occasional travel to conferences
- Ability to build relationships with market actors and trade allies and be comfortable through phone calls and face-to-face meetings
- Familiarity with the HVAC equipment industry
- Work experience in sales or at HVAC contractor, distributor, or manufacturer preferred, especially sought after
- Exposure to building envelope and/or construction supply chain is a bonus, but not required
- Ability to interact professionally with clients and present in the primary role
- Excellent business acumen and communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis (using Excel), a plus
- Ability to work and thrive independently
- Experience using Microsoft Office and Salesforce to track activity preferred
- This position is for Northeast-based candidates or for those willing to relocate
