About the role

  • Develop detailed maintenance job plans, including work scope, labor requirements, materials, tools and equipment.
  • Create and maintain a rolling two-week maintenance schedule within the CMMS (MaintainX), ensuring effective resource levelling.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with client personnel, internal technical teams and subcontractors to ensure safe, efficient execution.
  • Review completed work orders to ensure feedback quality and accuracy as well as continuous improvement of planning standards.
  • Develop and maintain standard preventive maintenance job plans and procedures.
  • Writes clear, concise and technically accurate work instructions and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date asset hierarchies, asset registers and maintenance records within the CMMS.
  • Manage spares and inventory data within the CMMS to support maintenance readiness and cost control.
  • Proactively identifying planning gaps, resource constraints or emerging risks and communicate these to management.
  • Monitor system alerts generated via Fulcrum and other monitoring platforms and coordinate with technicians to ensure timely acknowledgement.
  • Apply alarm management principles to triage alerts based on severity, impact and urgency.
  • Utilise Fulcrum, PNP SCADA, Ignition, plant P&IDs, OEM manuals and technical documentation to determine appropriate responses
  • Ensure alerts are escalated promptly and accurately according to established escalation procedures.
  • Track alert responses through to resolution, ensuring timely close-out and accountability.
  • Ensure all alert activity and resolutions are correctly logged in the CMMS.
  • Liaise with the Data team to ensure resolved alerts and interventions are captured for performance and savings reporting purposes.
  • Ensure data is available for system health reporting, including alert trends, reccurring issues and potential operational risks.
  • Recommend improvements to alert configuration, escalation processes and response protocols.
  • Contribute to the establishment and ongoing development of a centralized virtual control room for global system monitoring.
  • Assist in developing and refining control room processes, procedures and operating standards.
  • Lead or support initiatives to improve CMMS utilization and data quality across maintenance operations.
  • Drive integration of monitoring and reporting into the CMMS to improve data visibility and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on maintenance effectiveness, system reliability and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • **Knowledge**
  • - Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • - Recognised Maintenance Planning qualification.
  • - Red Seal in Power Plant Operations (advantageous).
  • - Good understanding of electrical systems including variable frequency drives (VFDs).
  • - Familiarity with remote or central control room operations and alert management protocols.
  • - Understanding of alarm filtering, prioritization and escalation principles.
  • - Ability to interpret and correlate technical data from multiple sources.
  • - Strong working knowledge of CMMS platforms (MaintianX or similar).
  • ** Experience**
  • - Minimum of 5 - 8 years’ experience in maintenance planning, reliability or a supervisory maintenance role.
  • - Practical experience in a control room, remote monitoring or industrial operations environment.
  • - Exposure to electrical, automation, SCADA or process control systems.
  • - Experience working in multidisciplinary teams supporting operational or asset performance objectives.
  • - Experience coordinating with clients, contractors OEMs in an operational environment.
