About the role
Guiding and working with your team to build and deliver the Technical Strategy and the Product Roadmap.
Partnering with product managers, product designers, developers, and other stakeholders across the company to assess business needs and translate them into technological solutions, plans, and priorities.
Hands-on with coding, architecture, best practices, appropriate tools and technologies. We are currently using Python/Django or Ruby/Ruby on Rails in the backend, and TypeScript/React in the frontend.
Contributing towards building a positive team culture and proactively identifying opportunities and action plans.
Monitoring and improving team health and performance.
Managing and mentoring the software engineers of your team, providing guidance, professional coaching, and professional development.
Overseeing the hiring activities for growing talent in your team.
Requirements
Proven experience managing a team of software engineers.
Experience with distributed systems and building modern, scalable web applications.
Strong backend engineering experience with backend languages and frameworks such as Python/Django or Ruby on Rails, designing and consuming web APIs.
Expertise in modern frontend development, especially with React and TypeScript.
Experience with observability - familiar with tools and techniques for monitoring performance, logging, alerting, and debugging issues in production environments.
A passion for code quality, best practices, and technical documentation.
Experience with database systems, relational and non-relational.
Experience with agile development methodologies with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Incredible attention to detail, and a deep care for the product experience and clinical safety.
Effective Direction and communication skills, with a proven ability to direct and inspire teams.
A desire to continuously improve systems, processes, and people in pursuit of excellence.
