About the role
- Support the development and maintenance of pipeline risk assessments, including relative, semi‑quantitative, and quantitative methods.
- Assist with data collection, validation, and analysis related to pipeline attributes, threats, consequences, and mitigation measures.
- Perform engineering and statistical analyses to support risk ranking, prioritization, and decision‑making.
- Contribute to reports, presentations, and technical documentation for internal stakeholders and regulatory submissions.
- Collaborate with integrity, engineering, operations, and data teams to understand pipeline systems and risk drivers.
- Support continuous improvement of risk models, tools, and methodologies.
- Participate in safety, integrity, and risk‑based planning discussions.
- Learn and apply relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements related to pipeline integrity and risk management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (completed or expected in Spring 2026) in Engineering or a related technical discipline, such as: Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Industrial, or Systems Engineering
- Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or Data Science (with engineering exposure)
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Fundamental understanding of engineering principles, probability, and data analysis
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis tools
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, especially in translating technical information
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Interest in pipeline integrity, risk assessment, safety, or reliability engineering
- Eligibility to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Previous experience (internship, co‑op, research) in: Energy, utilities, infrastructure, or industrial engineering
- Risk, reliability, integrity management, or asset management
- Academic exposure to: Risk analysis, reliability engineering, probabilistic methods
- Fluid mechanics, materials, corrosion, or fracture mechanics
- Statistics, data analytics, modeling
- Experience with analytical tools such as: Python, MATLAB, or similar
- GIS or data visualization tools
- Familiarity with pipeline or facility concepts (e.g., threats, consequences, mitigations)
