About the role
- Build proficiency with the use of in-house and industry recognized hydraulics engineering tools
- Conduct hydraulic studies using modelling software to analyze pipeline systems for design and maintenance issues, develop solutions, and issue formal technical recommendations
- Assist engineers in conducting technical reviews, with a focus on hydraulics engineering, at various stages in project life cycle gating process
- Provide engineering support by participating in hydraulics engineering activities related to operation and help troubleshoot hydraulics problems within assigned asset areas
- Support scope development of pipeline and facility projects
- Ensure effective and proactive communication is maintained with all internal and external stakeholders
- Learn and support trans-thermal hydraulic modelling on thermally sensitive assets
- Frequently validate and calibrate thermal capacity models
Requirements
- Completion of a degree in Engineering (Process, Chemical, Petroleum, Mechanical, or related degree)
- Registered as an Engineer-In-Training with APEGA or eligible to register
- 2-4 years of engineering experience
- Experience working with DNV Synergi Pipeline Simulator (SPS) software is an asset
- Effective interpersonal skills to communicate technical analysis and recommendations to a diverse audience
- Self-motivated and proactive, able to thrive in a dynamic work environment and meet deadlines
