About the role

  • Build proficiency with the use of in-house and industry recognized hydraulics engineering tools
  • Conduct hydraulic studies using modelling software to analyze pipeline systems for design and maintenance issues, develop solutions, and issue formal technical recommendations
  • Assist engineers in conducting technical reviews, with a focus on hydraulics engineering, at various stages in project life cycle gating process
  • Provide engineering support by participating in hydraulics engineering activities related to operation and help troubleshoot hydraulics problems within assigned asset areas
  • Support scope development of pipeline and facility projects
  • Ensure effective and proactive communication is maintained with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Learn and support trans-thermal hydraulic modelling on thermally sensitive assets
  • Frequently validate and calibrate thermal capacity models

Requirements

  • Completion of a degree in Engineering (Process, Chemical, Petroleum, Mechanical, or related degree)
  • Registered as an Engineer-In-Training with APEGA or eligible to register
  • 2-4 years of engineering experience
  • Experience working with DNV Synergi Pipeline Simulator (SPS) software is an asset
  • Effective interpersonal skills to communicate technical analysis and recommendations to a diverse audience
  • Self-motivated and proactive, able to thrive in a dynamic work environment and meet deadlines
