About the role

  • Manage clinics on the BEST4 mobile unit and promote a welcoming environment for participants
  • Administer the Capsule Sponge test and complete the BEST4 participant screening visit per protocol
  • Confirm participant safety, obtain informed consent, and perform the Capsule Sponge test
  • Recruit participants, facilitate sample collection and enter data onto the electronic Case Report Form (eCRF) and research databases
  • Work autonomously to manage a caseload while collaborating with the BEST4 research team, Clinical Coordinator, and project managers at QMUL, Cambridge, CPTU and EMS
  • Ensure clinical and regulatory compliance in accordance with ICH-GCP, national directives and local research governance
  • Identify recruitment barriers and implement action plans to meet study objectives
  • Liaise with study personnel across partner organisations and attend relevant meetings
  • Drive BEST4 mobile units to research sites and travel to multiple locations, including overnight stays when required
  • Provide clinical support and perform other clinical skills, including emergency response as needed

Requirements

  • Registered nurse (NMC Registration)
  • Continued CPD
  • Previous research experience or Upper GI experience
  • Significant post-registration clinical experience
  • Experience in performing nurse-led clinics
  • Good understanding of clinical research
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal/written)
  • Ability to work accurately and methodically with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High level of organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent IT knowledge / skills and proficient in MS Office Software
  • Full, Clean UK Driving Licence
  • Willing to travel and complete overnight stays as required
  • Motivated and enthusiastic
  • Ensure mandatory training is kept up to date
  • Perform clinical emergency practices (detachment, bleeding, resuscitation, anaphylactic reaction)
  • Desirable: Degree in a related subject area
  • Desirable: ICH GCP Training
  • Desirable: Knowledge of research regulations at national level
  • Desirable: Prior experience in cancer research and endoscopy
  • Desirable: Prior experience of working with Capsule Sponge device
