About the role
- Define and own the enterprise TPA channel strategy, including segmentation, tiering, coverage models, and engagement standards
- Establish and monitor success metrics for growth, retention, platform utilization, and partner experience across the TPA channel
- Translate enterprise objectives into clear TPA-focused priorities and initiatives
- Monitor industry, competitive, and regulatory trends and adjust channel strategy as needed
- Provide executive oversight for strategic national and regional TPA relationships and serve as escalation point for select top-tier firms
- Build executive-to-executive connectivity between TPAs and internal senior leadership to strengthen long-term partnerships
- Own growth, retention, revenue, AUM/AUA, and platform adoption outcomes for the TPA channel
- Establish business planning, forecasting, and performance management processes for the TPA relationship management team
- Partner with Sales, Investments, Product, Marketing, Operations, and Client Services to drive coordinated execution and remove barriers to growth
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 5–10 TPA Firm Channel Relationship Managers with clear goals, accountability, and development plans
- Establish repeatable frameworks, tools, and operating rhythms that enable scalable and consistent execution
- Serve as the internal voice of the TPA channel and present performance insights and recommendations to senior leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in retirement services, defined contribution recordkeeping, intermediary distribution, or financial services
- Experience defining and executing enterprise TPA or intermediary channel strategies with measurable growth and retention outcomes
- Experience guiding and developing high-performing teams
- Knowledge of TPA business models, defined contribution administration, and advisor or consultant ecosystems
- Ability to translate strategy into clear priorities, operating cadence, and measurable results
- Strong communication skills and executive presence with the ability to influence senior leaders internally and externally
- Ability to balance near-term growth objectives with long-term partnership outcomes
- Strong analytical, operational, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel 25–50%, including overnight travel, to support key relationships and industry events.
