About the role
- Empower is seeking a Lead Business Analyst with strong SAP finance expertise to connect our finance and accounting teams with technology\n
- This is a true business analyst role—partnering with end users, including senior leaders, to understand business needs, analyze processes, and translate them into SAP solutions\n
- You’ll collaborate with a high-performing team of finance, SAP, and technology experts on projects that streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve quality across the organization.\n
- The work centers on our SAP finance platform (FI/CO, BPC, Ariba, and more), with a focus on delivering practical, sustainable improvements that make a real impact.\n
- What you will do: Work with all finance areas to understand key processes and then identify, recommend, and implement process and/or technology improvements\n
- Interface with all areas affected by the project including business leaders within the functional departments, end-users, and customer/client services.\n
- Ensure factual, timely and quality project tracking, analysis and reporting\n
- Engage in diverse assignments dependent on the technology and stage of the project lifecycle to include project management, process analysis, performing development, testing, documentation and training\n
- Assist with writing and maintaining business requirements specifications that are clear, complete and executable.\n
- Assist with ensuring that requirements are understood by the technology development teams.\n
- Verify technical design specifications meet user requirements\n
- Identifies additional systems and tools that will support finance and accounting teams\n
- Develops reporting to meet business needs\n
- Assists in documenting, developing, and implementing improvements to financial processes and governance procedures supporting the company needs\n
- Develops deep domain knowledge on key applications including SAP and its associated modules\n
- Provides support in the prioritization and ongoing management of the SAP Value Stream roadmap including ownership of the “what” and the “why” for the prioritized value stream features
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Process Transformation, or a related field is preferred\n
- 3-5 years prior project management experience, utilizing business analysis skills on technical projects and/or systems reporting required including documenting requirement for business solutions\n
- 3-5 years relevant SAP experience\n
- 3+ years of experience in Business Process Re-engineering, Standardization and Continuous Improvement is preferred (i.e. Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma); project management skills are a plus\n
- Power User of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Visio) required\n
- Ability to prioritize resources and tasks in a fast-paced changing environment required\n
