About the role

  • Develop and maintain clear, user-focused technical documentation—including software user manuals, reference manuals, data sheets, and online help—from concept through completion.
  • Write and edit documentation using professional-grade grammar, spelling, and sentence/paragraph structure to ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Edit documents for grammar, spelling, format, style, controlled English, accuracy, and clarity, reducing ambiguity and improving ease of use.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and informal training to other writers on the team, supporting consistency and shared best practices.
  • Apply formats in accordance with established style guides and controlled English standards when creating technical communication deliverables, including manuals, data sheets, online help, and related content.
  • Structure and organize technical content so that information flows logically, is easy to navigate, and supports different user needs.
  • Work collaboratively with developers, validators, product managers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and internal teams to gain a deep understanding of product features and documentation requirements.
  • Incorporate feedback from SMEs, peers, editors, and team leads to ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and easy to understand.
  • Manage multiple documentation projects concurrently, effectively prioritizing tasks and using time wisely to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Organize and conduct meetings or interviews with engineers and other SMEs, both locally and internationally, to gather the information needed for documentation.
  • Work independently in lab or test environments, and leverage existing information on internal sites, external user communities, and professional forums to supplement documentation.
  • Use content management and authoring tools such as FrameMaker, MadCap, Paligo, or similar, along with Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Visio, and Excel) to create and maintain content.
  • Quickly grasp complex technical concepts and translate them into clear, concise text and visuals, breaking down complex topics into understandable documentation objects.
  • Regularly attend and actively participate in project meetings or conference calls to discuss documentation status, issues, and questions.
  • Participate in assigned training to develop and enhance technical writing and tool-related skills.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance documentation clarity, accessibility, and overall user experience.
