About the role
- Leading, organizing and coaching the MSOL sales team to meet or exceed annual bookings and growth targets.
- Defining and implementing strategies and initiatives that deliver long-term business growth and customer loyalty, in close collaboration with Business Unit.
- Establishing, improving and transforming sales management processes and ways of working (including CRM, digital tools and Go to Market Strategy) in line with the MSOL Value Creation Framework.
- Owning the POR (President’s Operating Report) and budgeting process for bookings, GP, SG&A and headcount, including ongoing performance monitoring and reporting.
- Setting clear objectives, budgets and performance goals for each part of the MSOL sales team and all direct reports.
- Building and maintaining senior-level relationships with key customers and representing Emerson in major commercial negotiations.
- Working closely with key stakeholders in the UK & Ireland and across Business Units to maximize total business potential, including X-BU Project Pursuit and Strategic Account programmes.
- Acting as an active member of the UK & Ireland Leadership Team, contributing to the regional growth and talent strategy and collaborating with European counterparts to support wider Emerson success.
- Ensuring robust functional and technical capability across the team through structured training plans.
- Owning and defining local Delegation of Authority (DOA) limits and pricing approval process.
- Fostering a culture of psychological safety, accountability, continuous Improvement and employee high engagement level, including driving action plans based on the Your Voice Counts Survey.
- Ensuring all transactions and activities comply with company and customer QHSE and trade compliance standards, including appropriate screening, documentation and escalation to the local Gatekeeper where required.
Requirements
- Extensive direct sales leadership experience, including substantial people management, with strong hands-on leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to build, develop and empower high-performing teams that consistently deliver above-market growth and exceed targets.
- Strong command of sales discipline, with proven ability to drive excellence through structured pipeline management, accurate forecasting and data-driven performance reviews.
- Experience leading sales transformation initiatives, driving adoption of CRM, digital tools and new ways of working (e.g. Segmentation, Go to Market strategy) to improve productivity and win rates.
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain long-term, strategic customer relationships, driving loyalty, retention and increased share of wallet.
- Proven experience navigating and influencing within a matrix organization, building strong cross-functional partnerships (e.g. with product management, engineering, operations, finance and marketing) to execute growth plans.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, demonstrating resilience, accountability and a strong bias for action.
