About the role
- Overseeing utility operations to meet the Foundry’s needs effectively
- Ensuring the safe and uninterrupted generation and distribution of utility services
- Directly supervising operators including hiring, training, coaching, and development
- Engaging in safety initiatives and quality compliance
- Maintaining a state of inspection readiness for equipment and facilities
- Collaborating with other Supervisors, Process Teams, and Operators to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Supporting communication between shifts and functional teams
- Managing operational excellence and productivity regarding utility systems
- Providing leader-led training to qualify employees to operate utilities process systems
- Developing performance management plans for operations personnel
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written
- Ability to set expectations and to monitor results
- Willing to respond to call-in and scheduled overtime work
- Must be capable of lifting 40 lbs
- Must be able to withstand exposure to temperature variations while performing work outside in winter and summer weather conditions
- Bachelor’s or associate Degree in science, engineering, or technical field (additional preference)
- Previous experience in utility operations or directly supporting a pharmaceutical manufacturing operation (additional preference)
- Leadership experience (additional preference)
- Skills in providing/receiving feedback and creating employee development plans (additional preference)
- Basic computer skills (desktop software) are required (additional preference)
- Understanding of FDA guidelines and cGMP requirements (additional preference)
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills (additional preference)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle and prioritize multiple requests (additional preference)
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to train and mentor others (additional preference)
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (additional preference)
- Ability to work with a team, make independent decisions, and influence diverse groups (additional preference)
- Ability to instill teamwork within the shift and demonstrate key interpersonal skills (additional preference)
