About the role

  • Play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient running of our plant, equipment and facilities.
  • Carry out routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.
  • Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and complete effective repairs.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns quickly to minimise disruption.
  • Support engineers with installing, testing, and commissioning new equipment and upgrades.
  • Provide technical input into improvement projects and design reviews.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, drawings, and maintenance records.
  • Work safely at all times and follow site procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Take part in risk assessments, permit‑to‑work processes, and safety improvement activities.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and report any issues or hazards.
  • Work closely with the operations team to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Assist with planned shutdowns and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, contractors, and cross‑functional teams to support day‑to‑day operations.

Requirements

  • Hands-on and practical , comfortable working with tools and equipment.
  • Safety‑driven , with a strong appreciation for working in a regulated chemical environment.
  • A strong communicator , able to collaborate with engineers, operators, and external partners.
  • Adaptable and proactive , ready to respond to changing priorities or urgent maintenance needs.
  • Curious and improvement-focused , always looking for ways to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues quickly and effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of safe work practices, permit systems, and risk control in industrial environments.
  • Ability to work across engineering, maintenance, and production teams.
  • Skilled at managing workload, planning maintenance tasks, and responding to urgent issues.
  • Accurate record‑keeping and ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Experience with lean practices, reliability engineering, or process optimisation is a plus.
  • Comfortable using CMMS systems, digital tools, and standard office applications.
