About the role
- Own and manage consultant staffing across client projects, ensuring optimal allocation aligned with skills, availability, and development goals.
- Anticipate staffing needs and support workforce planning and recruitment forecasts in partnership with HR.
- Monitor utilisation, bench time, and project demand to maintain balanced and sustainable team performance.
- Review project pricing assumptions to ensure delivery feasibility and margin alignment with Finance, Sales, and Operations.
- Establish scalable staffing frameworks, including operating models and team structures.
- Act as the central decision point for staffing trade-offs and allocation conflicts, escalating where appropriate.
- Oversee the operational follow-up of client engagements to ensure effective resource deployment and smooth delivery.
- Define and monitor staffing and delivery KPIs, providing actionable insights to leadership.
- Identify staffing risks and capacity constraints through pipeline visibility, proactively recommending solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement of staffing processes, tools, and ways of working.
- Partner with Partners, Directors, and Commercial teams to support portfolio planning and resource strategy.
- Collaborate with Finance on forecasting, revenue visibility, and margin performance.
- Support leadership in evolving delivery models and operational practices to enable growth.
- Lead or contribute to internal initiatives focused on process optimisation, governance, and tooling.
- Prepare operational insights and materials for management and leadership committees.
- Stay informed on best practices to continuously strengthen staffing maturity.
Requirements
- University degree in a relevant field i.e. (Business, Engineering, Economics, or equivalent) OR
- Proven experience in resource management or staffing within consulting or professional services strongly preferred
- Experience supporting a consulting population of 50+ consultants is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of consulting delivery models and project-based organisations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills preferred.
- Comfortable using resource and staffing tools (e.g., Napta), or able to learn quickly.
