About the role

  • Lead discovery and scoping conversations with qualified prospects alongside an ehouse Sales Director
  • Develop a deep understanding of each merchant’s: Business model and operating context, Ecommerce goals, KPIs, and success metrics, Current platform, tools, and technical constraints, Friction points and drivers for change
  • Ask thoughtful, structured questions that uncover real requirements, not just surface-level feature requests
  • Bring in Solution Engineers and subject-matter experts as needed to validate technical approaches and complexity
  • Architect end-to-end project approaches within the Shopify ecosystem, including: Platform migrations, custom builds, and iterative enhancements, retained services engagements, Integrations with ERPs, OMS, PIMs, middleware, and third-party tools
  • Interpret technical documentation and requirements (APIs, webhooks, data flows, system dependencies) to inform accurate scoping
  • Build detailed project estimates and assumptions, collaborating with Solution Engineers where needed
  • Author and own the Scope of Work, ensuring requirements are clearly documented, realistic, and aligned to delivery expectations
  • Shape high-level resourcing plans in Parallax based on scoped hours and project structure
  • Partner with the Head of Project Management on resource refinement and assignment
  • Support seamless sales-to-delivery handoff by clearly communicating scope, risks, assumptions, and context to delivery teams
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to prospective clients throughout the scoping process
  • Balance consultative guidance with pragmatic constraints around budget, timeline, and platform capabilities
  • Represent ehouse confidently in client conversations, this role requires strong communication, presence, and relationship-building skills

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of the Shopify platform and the broader Shopify ecosystem (apps, integrations, limitations, and best practices)
  • Experience scoping enterprise or complex ecommerce initiatives
  • Comfort interpreting technical concepts and documentation (APIs, webhooks, data integrations, system architecture), even if you’re not hands-on coding daily
  • Excellent communication skills; able to lead client conversations, synthesize complex information, and document requirements clearly
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through and ownership mentality
  • Collaborative by nature, comfortable working across sales, engineering, delivery, and leadership
  • Prior experience in a pre-sales, solutions consulting, or technical scoping role (Nice-to-Haves)
  • Background in solution engineering, technical project management, or implementation (Nice-to-Haves)
  • Familiarity with ERP, OMS, PIM, or middleware integrations common in Shopify builds (Nice-to-Haves)
