About the role

  • Play a major role in creation of communications plans and goals for leading brands
  • Manage multiple projects from conception to completion, anticipating challenges and ensuring deadline adherence
  • Drive media relations including creating and leading outreach plans, message development, management of events and coordination of media familiarisation trips
  • Execute effective pitching and training of spokespersons and grow media contact network
  • Serve as daily client contact addressing client issues thoughtfully and effectively
  • Demonstrate tactical proficiency in media relations, including creating and driving both earned and social media outreach plans
  • Build relationships with third-party influencers and internal business partners to meet client needs
  • Work closely with Account Managers to oversee operational performance of accounts, ensuring quality work, deadline and budget adherence
  • Assist junior staff by motivating, coaching and consistently providing feedback
  • Consistently produce high quality internal and external communications content.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in consumer and/or consumer health, communications, marketing or digital roles.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university
  • Be a media relations expert or be keen to develop these skills, building considered media relations plans, drafting messaging and pitch angles and selling to media
  • Passion for storytelling and proficiency in building campaigns that employ creative tactics, traditional media and digital/social media strategies
  • Strong writing capabilities and creative thinking
  • Basic proficiency with generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) and curiosity about how AI can support communications
  • Tactical proficiency in media relations, earned and social outreach, pitching, events and spokesperson training
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and work closely with account teams
