About the role
- Lead trade compliance for Thermal Ceramics globally
- Advise on compliance implications for M&A, new markets, and new products
- Manage day‑to‑day export/import operations escalated from the business
- Oversee classification, jurisdiction checks, licensing, and documentation accuracy
- Investigate compliance deviations and drive corrective actions
- Manage denied‑party screening, anti‑boycott compliance, and valuation processes
- Deliver practical support to operational teams when shipments or authorisations get messy
- Lead training on export controls, sanctions, and controlled goods handling
- Monitor regulatory changes and act quickly to keep the business compliant
Requirements
- 10–15 years in trade compliance
- at least 5 leading global or multi‑region compliance efforts
- Strong working knowledge of UK export controls, EU dual‑use/military regimes, ITAR/EAR, and trade agreements
- Comfortable managing both big‑picture strategy and hands‑on tactical work
- Solid experience with ERP systems and compliance tools
- Able to influence senior stakeholders without needing a 40‑slide deck
- Analytical, pragmatic, and calm when things get complex
- Strong communicator; English required, extra EU languages welcome
- Happy with occasional travel (around 20%)
