About the role
- Lead the Regulatory Operations function and team reporting to Associate General Counsel, Compliance & Risk
- Oversee all aspects of regulatory compliance with secondhand dealer and local laws, including obtaining and renewing licenses
- Communicate with regulatory authorities, law enforcement, and other public agencies
- Develop, implement, maintain, and manage ecoATM's Regulatory strategy to expand kiosk footprint and scale compliance
- Utilize workflow automation to create more efficient regulatory processes
- Monitor and assess local compliance trends, pending regulations, permit requirements, and emerging technologies
- Collaborate with business development and internal stakeholders to facilitate kiosk network expansion
- Research and approve company secondhand dealer compliance in new and existing locations
- Track and monitor legislative changes for secondhand dealers
- Analyze laws and provide requirements to business operations units
- Work with local regulators and municipal offices to secure and renew permits and licenses
- Work with local lobbyists, law enforcement, and municipal offices to modify local secondhand dealer laws
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities with business teams
- Assist with resourcing and contracting vendors for Regulatory Operations tasks and oversee project delivery
- Plan support of compliance activities and inspection readiness with Regulatory Operations team
- Coordinate across Channel, Kiosk Operations, Finance and Legal to ensure timely delivery of submission documents
- Manage coordination of reporting to law enforcement, regulatory authorities, and government stakeholders, including subpoena responses
- Organize meetings to coordinate, plan, and track Regulatory inputs for business initiatives
- Ensure consistent document presentation and adherence to company standards
- Assist with development of SOPs for Regulatory Operations
- Develop KPIs and analytics to drive continuous improvement of Regulatory strategy
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate degree required
- 8+ years of providing counsel to growing tech, recommerce, or similar companies subject to regulatory oversight
- 5+ years of experience managing people and growing/developing a professional team
- Regulatory compliance or government affairs experience required
- Experience providing counsel to businesses with retail operations strongly preferred
- Proven ability to secure lobbying resources to effect changes in state and local jurisdictions
- Experience building collaborative environments and fostering strong team cultures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to maintain cordial relations with state and local government regulatory agencies
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent negotiation, facilitation and conflict resolution ability
- Ability to work across business unit and functional lines to create a cohesive working team
- Proven record of driving continuous improvement by studying existing processes and leveraging workflow automation tools
- Ability to see the big picture and conceptualize and document creative solutions
- Expert administrative skills including Salesforce Service Cloud, MS Office, and SharePoint
