About the role
- Measure and evaluate system-level performance to identify critical ink, part and subsystem interactions
- Identify, validate and implement solutions to achieve system targets for startup time and mean time between incidents
- Coordinate activities with technicians and other team members to complete tasks and interpret results
- Perform failure analysis and identify key areas for continuous improvement in order to increase customer satisfaction
- Interface with the multi-functional teams including production, sustaining engineering, field service and R&D to address on-going field performance problems
- Analyze customer data, visit customer sites to investigate performance gaps and develop and implement improvement plans
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2 to 5 years of professional experience, or relevant co-op/internship experience
- Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and solve complex problems
- Solid understanding of fundamental mechanical systems
- System characterization, integration, testing, and optimization skills
- Knowledge of the following technical areas or topics: transducers, instrumentation, data acquisition, reliability, statistics, testing, design of experiments and failure analysis skills
- Experience with computer software tools for the engineering environment, i.e. MS Excel/Word PC applications
- Must be a self-starter with a positive attitude
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team environment and across functional boundaries
- Quality conscious with an attention to detail and ability to follow through
- Strong oral and written communication skills including project planning, technical presentations and direct customer communication
- Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
- Desired knowledge: Continuous inkjet knowledge, software knowledge, failure analysis knowledge, reliability engineering
