About the role

  • Measure and evaluate system-level performance to identify critical ink, part and subsystem interactions
  • Identify, validate and implement solutions to achieve system targets for startup time and mean time between incidents
  • Coordinate activities with technicians and other team members to complete tasks and interpret results
  • Perform failure analysis and identify key areas for continuous improvement in order to increase customer satisfaction
  • Interface with the multi-functional teams including production, sustaining engineering, field service and R&D to address on-going field performance problems
  • Analyze customer data, visit customer sites to investigate performance gaps and develop and implement improvement plans

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2 to 5 years of professional experience, or relevant co-op/internship experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and solve complex problems
  • Solid understanding of fundamental mechanical systems
  • System characterization, integration, testing, and optimization skills
  • Knowledge of the following technical areas or topics: transducers, instrumentation, data acquisition, reliability, statistics, testing, design of experiments and failure analysis skills
  • Experience with computer software tools for the engineering environment, i.e. MS Excel/Word PC applications
  • Must be a self-starter with a positive attitude
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team environment and across functional boundaries
  • Quality conscious with an attention to detail and ability to follow through
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including project planning, technical presentations and direct customer communication
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Desired knowledge: Continuous inkjet knowledge, software knowledge, failure analysis knowledge, reliability engineering
