Brand Manager

• Research & Competitive Analysis
• Conduct competitive analysis and white space research across consumer categories including fashion, HBA, home, and food
• Study trend forecasting, market insights, and consumer behavior to identify brand opportunities
• Synthesize research into clear, actionable creative direction
• Concept & Visual Language
• Translate insights into a cohesive brand aesthetic — defining the color, texture, material, and visual DNA of a brand or collection
• Think in terms of collections and assortments, not just individual items — identifying what products belong together as a story or consumer solution
• Develop seasonal or thematic creative briefs that set the direction for a brand or product line
• Contribute to fashion and home decor design with a strong eye for materials, silhouettes, finishes, and trends
• Visual Identity & Brand Design
• Can design across the full brand ecosystem — logo design, brand identity, packaging, graphic design, and marketing materials
• Ensure a consistent visual through-line across all brand touchpoints
• Concept and develop presentation layouts and design assets to hand off to team members
• Pitch & Value Proposition Development
• Partner with the Creative Director and cross-functional licensing teams to develop creative brand POVs to sell into client
• Craft captivating, forward-thinking pitch decks that communicate brand strategy, aesthetic direction, and product vision compellingly
• Frame work around clear value propositions and white space opportunities that resonate with internal stakeholders
• Product & Style Guide Development
• Lead and contribute to physical product development, from concept through to production
• Develop style guides that codify the brand aesthetic and ensure consistency across the product line
• Collaborate with the team to ensure creative vision translates accurately into final product
• Supplier & Production
• As needed, manage supplier relationships throughout the product development process
• Communicate creative direction clearly to suppliers and licensee partners to ensure product integrity from concept to shelf

Brand Development Designer – Mass Consumer Brands

Graphics Designer

• Support licensing team with creation of sales collateral, brand books, style guides, and presentations, mostly created in PowerPoint.
• Find ways to tell a brand story in presentation mediums such as PowerPoint in unique and innovative ways.
• Develop logos for new brands where applicable or refresh existing logos.
• Create packaging designs and guidelines for specific brands.
• Build out style guides based on specific brand identity.
• Develop graphics and signs for expos.
• Create digital assets for marketing.
• Create and/or work with existing die lines, existing design files, and style guides to develop production-ready designs.
• Brainstorm with creative team to develop design concepts, gather research, and build mood boards.
• Maintain, organize, and update digital brand assets on server.
• Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects, manage timelines, and meet deadlines.
• Communicate with senior team members to receive feedback.
• Liaising effectively with other departments such as new business, licensing, and marketing.
• Comfortable building websites on platforms like Wix or Squarespace.

Graphic Designer – Creative Services

Designer

• Provide design direction to suppliers and create original designs that are on-brand and commercially viable.
• Collaborate with Design Director, Product Development counterparts, and sourcing partners to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve product and design issues.
• Partner with the Product Development team to understand category needs and execute on design briefs.
• Support business growth through PD partnership and proactive, innovation-driven design proposals.
• Partner with peers across the team to ensure brand continuity across multiple Walmart private label home brands.
• Support the broader team across outdoor, soft home, and hardlines categories as needed.
• Monitor the competitive landscape, analyze sales data, and research new technologies and innovation pertaining to indoor furniture categories.
• Apply findings to inform design decisions and propose forward-thinking solutions.
• Clear and concise communication during presentations/reviews to Upper Management, retail partners, and suppliers.
• Diligent approach to workload, maintaining good, timely communication with internal and external teams.
• Must have great design sensibility that marries back to the aesthetic of each brand and must be proactive in bringing workable, innovative designs to the table.
• Adaptability, open to change; analyzes both successes and failures for clues to improvement; experiments and will try anything to find solutions.

Furniture Designer

• Oversee day to day management of Brand Managers, Product Managers and Product Associates including onboarding, mentoring, and feedback to foster growth and development
• Fostering trusted teamwork cross functionally, with management and with junior employees which includes communication, collaboration, empowerment, and inclusion
• Relationship holder of senior level brand relationship in partnership with VP and support from team
• Client Relationship Management and Strategy Development
• Oversee onboarding of new clients and build strong relationships, understanding their needs and objectives with support from Brand Manager
• Responsible for ensuring brand managers adhere to strategy for clients and set quarterly goals for product pitch and growth efforts by licensees
• Establish a QBR schedule for internal leadership and clients for each brand
• Identify challenges and proactively bring innovative solutions to the VP of Brand and Product
• Support the sales team and leadership in the development of overall strategy
• Contribute to budget planning and financial forecasting in collaboration with the sales team
• Support new business development initiatives, including developing initial strategies and proposals
• Attend key meetings and meet with senior licensee and client partners
• Support the development and execution of strategies for trade shows
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the team.
• Develop innovative solutions to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
