About the role
- Contribute to the development, documentation, and ongoing refinement of a comprehensive, client‑focused, and scalable client onboarding process for e2E.
- Create, own, and manage assigned client onboarding activities, serving as a key point of contact for accounting and finance‑related onboarding tasks.
- Review prospect introduction call notes and recordings to understand client goals, engagement scope, and onboarding requirements.
- Develop onboarding request lists, timelines, schedules, and agendas, and actively monitor progress against internal and client service‑level agreements (SLAs).
- Proactively communicate status updates, risks, scheduling changes, or deviations to the Chief Client Success Officer and the Client Onboarding team.
- Establish and manage onboarding schedules and task calendars for each assigned client.
- Coordinate payroll setup activities, including transitioning payroll providers when required.
- Perform general ledger mapping and ensure alignment with e2E accounting standards.
- Review, update, and correct client accounting records to ensure accurate accounting practices and compliance.
- Identify and implement efficiencies within client accounting files, including bank rules, automated processes, and report generation.
- Produce the first month of full‑charge bookkeeping for new clients as part of the onboarding process.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all adjusting journal entry schedules.
- Draft accounting manuals and onboarding checklists for new clients using established templates.
- Facilitate a smooth handoff and transition of clients from onboarding to the internal accounting team.
- Initiate and implement continuous improvement efforts to enhance the onboarding experience, internal workflows, efficiency, and scalability.
- Perform additional onboarding tasks and client‑related projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA preferred.
- Six (6) or more years of relevant accounting or financial operations experience.
- Strong accounting and financial operations knowledge, including systems setup and project management.
- Hands-on experience performing bank and credit card reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, monthly close, adjusting journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience setting up and running payroll preferred.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online is required; experience with other accounting software is a plus.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, document-sharing platforms (Dropbox, etc.), and virtual collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, GoToMeeting).
- Exceptional customer service skills with a client-centric mindset.
