About the role
- prepare layout and design of oil & gas piping design systems using AVEVA (P&ID, E3D, ect) and/or AutoCAD Plant 3D software
- producing quality piping design layouts, orientation of process equipment and interconnecting piping
- generating Piping Line List and Tie-In list when required
- assist engineers and designers in resolving piping design issues
- calculating layout rights-of-way and/or street dimensions and angles
- generating Iso-Metric Drawings using AVEVA E3D and/or Plant 3D
- constructing dimensional relationships of one part to another and a relationship of various parts to entire project, utilizing knowledge of engineering practices and mathematics
- creating a preliminary and/or final sketch of proposed drawing, using computer-assisted design/drafting equipment
- incorporate redlines provided by the engineer
- ability to validate design information (material spec, constructability, etc.)
- ability to work in a team environment
Requirements
- 1 to 5 years AutoCAD Plant 3D Designer with SoCalGas experience preferred
- knowledge of pipe and fittings, valves, and piping specialties preferred
- some knowledge of AVEVA (software P&ID, E3D, etc.)
