About the role

  • Independent review and implementation of rule set changes in firewall operations
  • Responsibility for the stable operation of firewall systems
  • Development and establishment of processes, standards and working methods as part of the new firewall team
  • Operation and securing of the Germany-wide cooperation model
  • Analysis of connectivity issues and close collaboration with operations and architecture teams
  • Maintenance of rule sets to ensure security and transparency

Requirements

  • Several years of professional experience administering firewall systems and in network security
  • Practical experience with next‑generation firewalls and centralized management systems
  • Proficiency in TCP/IP, dynamic routing, VPN and NAT
  • IT training, a degree in computer science, or an equivalent qualification with a focus on IT security
  • Excellent German skills (at least C1) and good English skills, both written and spoken
  • Security screening under SÜG/SÜFV required
  • Certifications such as CCNP Security or CISSP are desirable
