About the role
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Data strategy aligned with the organization's overall business objectives, identifying emerging technologies to drive innovation while minimizing cost
- Hire, manage and mentor managers, assigning responsibilities, evaluating performance, ensuring accountability and fostering collaboration
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of Data infrastructure including data warehouse platform(s), data lake(s), transactional databases, pipelines, ETL, API, insights, ML and AI implementations
- Lead the execution of Data projects and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and senior management proactively
- Analyze Data operations to identify areas for improvement, track key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Build and maintain relationships with leaders across the organization to facilitate the highest level of performance and delivery
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years hands-on experience in engineering with a minimum of 6 years in a role with direct reports
- Experience creating and managing budgets of ~$5M
- Exceptional technical knowledge in Engineering and Architecture
- Demonstrable experience in development for cloud (AWS experience preferred)
- Strong hands-on experience with software engineering for SaaS products in the cloud
- Proficiency in modeling team structure and processes for projects and go-forward planning
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience in Data Engineering or Computer Science
- Proven leadership and team management abilities
- Strategic thinking and ability to align Data with business goals
- Project management skills
- Understanding of industry regulations and compliance requirements
