About the role
- Provide accounting and financial reporting and analysis to management and customers
- Preparation and review of account reconciliations and analysis, and financial statement analysis
- Maintain good working knowledge of accounting policies and impacts as required
- Coordinate and lead in implementation of new accounting pronouncements
- Prepare and review financial schedules and lead the review of data requests, internal and external reporting, and FERC filings
- Prepare and present analysis of financial data for management reporting monthly, quarterly, and annually
- Work with internal and external auditors, providing necessary information and answering questions as needed
- Perform research of GAAP accounting issues and preparation of accounting position papers
- Perform and support research of regulatory accounting issues including rate case support, new rate orders, modifications, and implementation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other related degree
- Five (5) plus years of increasingly diverse or complex experience in related field in addition to degree
- Possesses and applies fundamental accounting and finance concepts, practices, and procedures
- Experience with financial applications (i.e., PeopleSoft, OneStream, PowerPlan, etc.) and query tools (WebI, PowerBI, cubes)
- Experience using Microsoft products such as Excel, Word and Power Point
- Eight (8) plus years of increasingly diverse or complex experience in related field in addition to degree (preferred)
- Master’s in Accounting or MBA (preferred)
- CPA (or working towards a CPA), CIA, MBA, CFA or CMA is strongly encouraged for achieving the Lead Analyst or higher position (preferred)
