About the role
- Serve as the primary point of contact for current MBCS students.
- Advise students on degree requirements, academic policies, timelines, and program expectations.
- Monitor student academic progress and coordinate interventions, including support for students on academic probation or with low grades.
- Track students on Leave of Absence and support return-to-study processes.
- Serve as the student accommodations liaison.
- Maintain accurate student records and advising notes.
- Hold regular office hours to support student success and help resolve concerns.
- Represent students in monthly cross-program student support and care meetings.
- Serve as a liaison among students, faculty, program leadership, and campus partners across NSOE and Fuqua.
- Attend and participate in MBCS and university meetings; document and disseminate meeting notes as appropriate.
- Maintain shared program resources and records (e.g., Duke Box folders).
- Co-lead program logistics including orientation, professional development, room scheduling, swag ordering, catering, and community-building events.
- Lead planning and execution of the MBCS Graduation ceremony, including logistics, communications, materials, and data collection.
- Draft, curate, and disseminate timely and accurate student communications via email, newsletters, LMS, and other platforms.
- Collaborate with marketing teams on student stories, news updates, website content, and social media.
- Ensure MBCS website content remains current.
- Support recruitment and enrollment efforts including application reading, information sessions, campus visits, and admitted student events.
- Support continuous assessment through data collection, program evaluation, and analysis of student feedback.
- Design, administer, and analyze surveys and focus groups.
- Prepare reports and year-over-year summaries for program leadership.
- Support updates to the MBCS academic bulletin and accreditation requirements (e.g., SACS).
- Process invoices, purchase orders, procurement card charges, reimbursements, and expense reconciliation.
- Support budget tracking and financial documentation.
- Represent MBCS at university-wide meetings and initiatives.
- Support sustainability, inclusive excellence, and community initiatives.
- Participate in Student Services team meetings, retreats, and special projects.
- May supervise staff or student employees, as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Two years of experience in personnel, college/university administration, or a related field.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience supporting graduate or professional master’s programs.
- Event planning and implementation experience.
- Familiarity with Duke systems (DukeHub, Concur, Canvas, Qualtrics).
- Experience with program evaluation, assessment, and data analysis in Excel.
- Budget management experience.
- Interest or background in sustainability, climate, or environmental education.
