About the role
- Serve as a leader for the Department of Pharmacy
- Manage and coordinate employees within a work unit
- Assist in recruiting and onboarding staff in the work unit
- Establish and maintain relationships with key leaders in specialty areas
- Oversee operations of the main Duke Specialty Pharmacy within the Cancer Center
- Onboard and train all staff, students, and residents
- Primary transplant discharge coordinator overseeing discharges
- Ensure workflows are operating efficiently
- Work with the operations manager for regulatory and accreditation compliance
- Consult for day-to-day HR resolution
Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy Degree, or BS Pharmacy Degree and eligible for license as a Pharmacist by the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy.
- Two years of pharmacy practice experience required.
- Completion of PGY1 Pharmacy Residency or equivalent experience is strongly preferred.
- PGY2 Specialty Residency in area of specialty is strongly preferred.
- Experience working in an accredited Specialty Pharmacy with managerial or supervisor experience is highly preferred.
- Licensed Pharmacist or eligible to practice pharmacy in North Carolina.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required for employment.
- Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) in area of specialty, if applicable, is strongly preferred.
