About the role
- Manage and coordinate patient care and personnel needs in a Cardiology Diagnostic Unit.
- Plan, develop, implement and evaluate ambulatory health care services, programs and activities.
- Develop and implement departmental policy and procedures to solve specific operating problems and improve patient care.
- Manage specific clinic in absence of Practice Administrator/Nurse Manager; and be available on-call for emergencies.
- Manage Cardiology procedural services delivered in the clinic.
- Implement cardiology related procedural updates and new services.
- Cross coverage as needed in diagnostics.
- Manage various personnel actions: hiring, orientation, performance appraisals, promotions and scheduling; counsel and conduct formal discipline of clinical staff.
- Develop and implement quality assurance programs relating to Cardiology imaging accreditation (IAC).
- Collaborate with Practice Administrator/Nurse Manager in determining financial needs and submitting budgetary recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in biology, physiology, psychology or related scientific field required.
- Work requires four years of clinical technical experience to gain expertise in the principles, theories, procedures and equipment in the clinical area of assignment.
- BLS certification (AHA)
- A state license and registry may be required based on clinical area
- Experience in echocardiography or exercise physiology
