About the role

  • Managing technical aspects of project development from inception through initiation of construction
  • Supporting role through startup and closeout of projects
  • Performing difficult and complex services requiring a high level of independent judgment, initiative, and discretion
  • Screening projects to determine technical viability
  • Ensuring that personnel safety and environmental awareness are incorporated in design
  • Facilitating development and review of Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) specifications and drawings
  • Preparing formal RFP packages and managing competitive bidding processes, including evaluation of proposals and selection of contractors and vendors
  • Developing cost estimates and expenditure forecasts for management review
  • Reviewing, managing and organizing project documentation including technical specifications, calculations, and drawings
  • Coordinating performance test procedure development and evaluating performance test results
  • Overseeing contractors, consultants, engineers, vendors, and government agencies to complete projects within scope, schedule, and budget
  • Performing technical due diligence activities in support of acquisition efforts
  • Traveling within the continental United States; expected to be about 10% to 30%

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering, or Construction Management
  • 8 or more years of experience as a project engineer, project manager or construction manager
  • Licensed Professional Engineer and/or Project Management Professional preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of MS computer applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project in a Windows environment
  • Knowledge of Procore Project Management Software
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
  • Capable of working alone or as part of a team without a significant level of supervision
  • Ability to manage budgets, project costs and scheduling
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Capable of promoting and maintaining strong, positive relationships with coworkers, suppliers, contractors, vendors, engineering firms, and customers
  • Willingness to share expertise and knowledge with other team members for the benefit of the entire company
  • Willingness to acquire new technical skills
  • Ability to function within a matrix organization in which functional and business leaders have equal authority within the organization and employees may report to both a functional leader and a business leader
