About the role
- Assist in analyzing RFI/RFP requirements and identifying initial technical approaches.
- Help develop early solution sketches, concepts of operation, and architecture outlines.
- Research DoD, IC, and Federal Civilian technologies, mission needs, and modernization priorities.
- Support development of compliant, compelling solutions under the guidance of senior architects.
- Produce clear, well-structured technical content, including:
- Draft technical proposal sections
- System descriptions and approach narratives
- Technical white papers and capability briefs
- Process flows, operational concepts, and supporting diagrams.
- Translate complex technical ideas into accessible language for evaluators and customers.
- Draft and refine technical sections for proposals, RFIs, and white papers.
- Participate in solutioning sessions, color team reviews, and requirement analysis workshops.
- Assist in identifying win themes and articulating value propositions tied to customer mission outcomes.
- Support creation of architecture diagrams, workflow charts, and solution models.
- Help maintain technical libraries, templates, and reusable solution assets.
- Document LCNC automation flows, AI-enabled solution concepts, and data-driven approaches.
- Work with SMEs in engineering, cyber, logistics, IT, and sustainment to validate technical accuracy.
- Coordinate with capture managers to produce early opportunity artifacts and technical positioning and solutioning.
- Ensure solutions align with DoD architecture frameworks (DoDAF, cArmy/ECMA, PlatformOne, Cloud One).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or hands-on experience working on IT/communication systems within the US Armed Forces.
- 5-7 years’ experience in solution architecture, systems engineering, cyber, cloud, software, or C5ISR.
- Strong analytical and writing skills with attention to detail and compliance.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly (cloud, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, LCNC, AI/ML).
- Active Secret clearance or Secret eligible.
- Strong understanding of DoD IT standards, security controls, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with AWS/Azure cloud platforms in government environments.
- Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity requirements (RMF, NIST 800-53, FIPS 140-2/3).
- Excellent technical writing skills with attention to detail and compliance. Familiar with Federal RFP structures, proposal processes, or acquisition terminology.
- Interest in developing into a Solutions Architect role.
