About the role

  • Operate and further develop the Software Asset Management (SAM) tool, and automate workflows and reports to increase efficiency
  • Advise internal customers on software asset management and support license inventories and audits
  • Analyze license usage and identify opportunities for cost savings and optimization
  • Manage the SAP license portfolio, including ensuring proper metering, assigning licenses, and coordinating repurchase activities
  • Advise SAP-using IT teams/products—especially on selecting the correct licensing, optimizing license costs and inventory, and defining requirements for new SAP contracts
  • Support service managers in planning, administering, and billing license and maintenance fees

Requirements

  • Completed a 2-year technical college qualification or at least a 3-year vocational apprenticeship, plus additional specialized training or equivalent qualifications acquired by other means
  • Knowledge of SAM processes, ideally with experience implementing, operating, and enhancing SAM tools
  • Experience in automating workflows and reports, e.g., with Power Automate, scripting, or comparable tools
  • Ability to analyze license usage and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Ideally, experience managing SAP licenses, including license metering with the License Administration Workbench and knowledge of SAP license metrics and contractual conditions
