About the role
- Assess market potential of prospective accounts and meet with local, regional and national businesses in the Southern California area, with an emphasis on San Diego, to learn about their marketing needs.\n
- Identify, grow, and maintain a territory of clients through face to face meetings, prospecting, events, branding, presentations and penetrating organizations on the highest level.\n
- Develop integrated advertising and marketing programs with clients/agencies to address client needs and objectives by hitting their KP I goals. (KP I) clarify? It says KP I; we should keep exact? We'll fix: KPI goals.\n
- Develop and maintain your sales territory by building brand equity, business development and advertising sales throughout the assigned territory.\n
- Generate a strong understanding of MNI’s products and media solutions.\n
- Cultivate and develop high-level client relationships on the client and agency sides and leverage a strong consultative approach for selling targeted marketing solutions.\n
- Identify revenue opportunities with existing clients/advertising agencies to grow existing relationships.\n
- Provide ongoing client management to partners including regular reviews of marketing plans performance, educational events and client entertainment.\n
- Provide regular updates to management on pipeline of business, percent to goal, territory updates and opportunities along with region challenges.\n
- Perform client needs analysis to determine marketing pain points and develop strategies to address those needs.\n
- Exceed annual revenue goals.\n
- Remote- In-office Expectations: Remote, with hybrid options for Southern California based candidates. Position requires coming into an office or attending off site company meetings a few times year.
Requirements
- College degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.\n
- 3+ years’ experience minimum; digital sales experience a plus.\n
- Business development specialist with proven track record of developing and growing a client base and agency relationships (prospecting, lead generation, deep relationship development).\n
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills.\n
- Experience in advertising/media sales; ability to develop, present and sell through high-level media strategy and marketing plans to C-Level clients/advertising agency teams.\n
- Strong track record of exceeding revenue goals and overachievement; time management and business acumen.\n
- Solid computer skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Salesforce; knowledge of Nielsen, ComScore and Scarborough a plus.\n
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.\n
- Self-starter who can work independently and adapt quickly to selling situations.\n
- Valid US driver’s license required.\n
- 40% travel required (approximate).\n
- Territory: Southern California (Emphasis on San Diego).
