About the role
- Technical oversight of the day to day operations of an integrated facility, primarily the Tissue Converting area
- Personnel safety, process optimization, product development, maintenance input and machine efficiency
- Primary technical coach for operations team members
- Lead trials
- Work with vendors for process optimization which includes chemical optimization
- Lead partnership meetings with internal customers
- Monitor and reduce waste, drive waste initiatives
- Process Centerline Development
- Lead CAPEX projects
- Training development, engineering design input
- Product development
- Downtime analysis
- Machine efficiency and rate optimization
- Lead root cause problem analysis
Requirements
- At least 5 years working in manufacturing
- Tissue, pulp, and paper experience a plus
- Engineering degree in pulp and paper sciences or chemical engineering desired
- Other types of engineers (electrical, mechanical) with experience in paper making acceptable
- Understanding of machine processes operating at maximum efficiency
- Very good organizational, analytical, computer, and communication skills
- Progressively responsible management position related to operations in tissue manufacturing
