About the role
- Direct and lead operating performance for Pulp and Power Departments
- Lead, motivate, and support a team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment
- Conduct budget reviews and manage cost improvement plans
- Engage in long-term planning to create initiatives that further the mill’s goals
- Assess budget information to find ways to minimize expenses and optimize profits
- Manage data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets
- Drive strategy and execution in all areas and hold the business unit accountable for delivering the desired results
- Maintain a presence on the plant floor, driving two-way communication with all employees
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in paper, Engineering or a related field
- 10+ years experience working in manufacturing, pulp & power
- 15+ years leadership experience
- Exceptionally strong leadership skills
- Strong relationship and teamwork values
- Strong coach and mentor, leading by example
- Expert in Reliability and Continuous Improvement principles and techniques
- Experience with Unions
