About the role
- Map, analyze, and document current-state and future-state processes supporting CDC programs, cooperative agreements, and public health initiatives
- Design and streamline workflows to enhance the delivery and performance of CDC-funded programs
- Develop clear and user-friendly documentation, including:
- - Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- - Job aids and training materials
- - Implementation guides for federal staff, partners, and grantees
- Apply continuous improvement and change management methodologies to support:
- - Agile decision-making in public health response and program operations
- - Risk identification and mitigation
- - Sustainable operational improvements across CDC initiatives
- Identify, assess, and implement technology and automation solutions to improve public health data collection, reporting, and program management
- Evaluate tools and systems to support CDC program needs, including those used for surveillance, reporting, and grant/program management
- Support adoption of new tools and processes by developing and delivering training to CDC staff and external partners
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement activities, including workshops, interviews, and feedback sessions with CDC program teams, partners, and grantees
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate insights into actionable, measurable improvements aligned with CDC priorities and public health outcomes
Requirements
- Strong experience in process mapping, workflow design, and process documentation
- Experience supporting CDC or similar federal public health agencies
- Familiarity with continuous improvement and change management principles
- Ability to assess and implement technology and automation solutions in a public health or federal environment
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage federal staff, public health partners, and external stakeholders
- Ability to synthesize feedback and translate it into practical, actionable recommendations
- Bachelor’s degree required (public health, public administration, business, or related field preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience
