About the role

  • You will take on the disciplinary and professional leadership of the central Billing and Credit Control team in a dynamic environment
  • You will regularly review workloads and capacities to ensure an optimal team size and the required skills
  • You will promote the development of the team and ensure continuous communication and follow-up on performance against defined targets
  • You will be part of the restructuring of the Billing function and will lead the team through the transformation process
  • You will introduce standardized billing and collections processes and implement them in close coordination with the Global Process Owners (GPOs) and Regional Working Capital Manager
  • You will support the Key Client strategy through coordinated, cross-border approaches for billing and collections
  • You will develop and implement strategies to optimize working capital, including process improvements
  • You will support reporting on working capital performance to the Regional Working Capital Manager and the local Head of Finance
  • You will prepare working capital performance reports for Country Managing Partners (CMPs) and Client Partners
  • You will develop strategies to optimize cash flow, including escalation of overdue receivables and dispute management
  • You will be the first point of contact for escalations involving complex client situations related to WIP or AR, as well as for internal obstacles such as technology issues
  • You will support discussions with partners about key client relationships that affect working capital performance
  • You will be the contact for all VAT-related questions in the accounts receivable area and will work closely with our Tax Manager
  • You will continuously build strong relationships with CMPs, Country Partners, Country Finance Managers and other relevant stakeholders
  • You will support the Head of Finance and Tax Manager in ensuring compliance with firm policies
  • You will ensure that all regulatory requirements are met, including Anti-Money Laundering policy guidelines

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration, Finance, a commercial vocational qualification, or an equivalent qualification
  • Several years of experience in billing and credit control, ideally in an international environment
  • Several years of management experience
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with KPIs
  • Confident user of ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) and MS Office
  • Extensive knowledge of VAT (value-added tax)
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills when dealing with clients and internal stakeholders
  • High level of care and accuracy when handling client data, calculations and invoice adjustments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience in the rapid and effective handling of billing and VAT queries
  • Commitment to adhering to firm policies, even under stressful conditions
  • Team player with experience working closely with colleagues from different teams
  • Fluent German and English
