About the role
- Design original all-over prints, placement prints & embroideries, motifs and graphics aligned with the Disturbia brand aesthetic
- Translate seasonal concepts and creative direction into fresh, commercially strong, production-ready artwork
- Create seamless repeats, engineered layouts and accurate print files for development and production
- Support seasonal concept development through strong research, mood boards and visual storytelling
- Contribute to the creation of distinctive, collectible designs inspired by mystical, symbolic, folkloric and alternative subculture references
- Collaborate closely with Design, Buying, Garment Technology, Production and external suppliers to ensure artwork is aligned, feasible and delivered to deadline
- Confidently prepare artwork packs and amendments with accuracy and attention to detail
- Maintain and organise print & embroidery strike offs, artwork libraries and related administration within the wider Print team
- Keep up to date with niche trend movements, cultural references, subcultural shifts and competitor activity relevant to the Disturbia customer
Requirements
- A degree in Textile Design, Print Design, Graphic Design or a related discipline is preferred
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in print, textile or graphic design, ideally within fashion or a lifestyle brand with a strong visual identity
- Strong portfolio demonstrating original print, and graphic design, with clear evidence of repeat, placement and motif development. Evidence of embroidery knowledge and experience would be beneficial but not essential.
- Strong understanding of the Disturbia aesthetic, customer and competitive landscape
- Excellent Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills
- Strong ability to create production-ready artwork, including seamless repeats, print layouts and placement embroideries and embellishments.
- Good eye for colour, composition, scale, pattern flow and detail
- Commercial awareness and understanding of how design decisions influence product appeal and sales performance
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities and respond quickly within an agile, fast-moving business
- Strong research skills and a genuine interest in alternative fashion, folklore, symbolism, occult references, art and subculture
- Hand-drawing or illustration skills would be an advantage
- Experience with embellishment, embroidery or associated techniques would be beneficial, but is not essential
- Experience working with suppliers and factories, including offshore production partners, would be advantageous
- Confidence using a Wacom tablet is beneficial
