About the role
- Design and develop products that meet market objectives in collaboration with sales and manufacturing teams.
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including bills of material, product drawings, application notes, and industry trend information.
- Ensure all products and installations comply with applicable industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Develop, manage, and track project timelines to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Conduct product testing and failure investigations to identify, diagnose, and resolve product issues.
- Source required components, verifying that they meet technical specifications and cost targets to support profitability.
- Oversee manufacturing operations to ensure proper product documentation is followed and products meet customer quality standards.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the product lifecycle to maintain and enhance product competitiveness.
- Support the sales team by performing application analyses for customer requirements and preparing technical proposals.
- Travel as needed to supplier and customer sites to provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and deliver presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical discipline.
- A minimum of three to five years of experience in product or application engineering, preferrably within an HVAC or plumbing company.
- Experience with hydronic systems is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles.
- Proficient in CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks for designing and creating technical drawings.
- Familiarity with testing equipment, diagnostic tools, and relevant software used for performance analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interface with customers.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and collaborate successfully within a team environment.
