About the role
- Partner with executive leadership to define and communicate a clear data vision aligned with Digible’s business and product strategy, focusing on the data platform and enabling high-quality data consumption across the organization
- Bring a strong point of view on how data enables digital marketing outcomes (preferred experience) and multifamily housing use cases (nice to have)
- Anticipate future data needs and guide platform evolution accordingly
- Educate stakeholders on what is possible with data in the multifamily housing domain, including Digible’s existing data platform and roadmap
- Ensure strategy is grounded in practical execution and organizational constraints
- Own execution and delivery accountability for Data Platform and Data Science, setting priorities, sequencing work, and delivering outcomes
- Translate business and product goals into clear roadmaps, milestones, and staffing plans
- Drive scope clarity and decision-making when requirements are ambiguous or evolving
- Communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs with context and clarity
- Hold responsibility for Data Platform and Data Science delivery, quality, and impact
- Own the design and evolution of Digible’s data platform, including ingestion, transformation, orchestration, storage, and observability
- Ensure the platform reliably supports Product Engineering teams (including Reporting) and business analytics consumers
- Reason independently about system architecture, tradeoffs, and failure modes
- Lead through production incidents with deep system understanding and sound technical judgment
- Establish strong practices for data quality, governance, and system reliability
- Maintain a working understanding of modern AI tools and techniques relevant to data platforms
- Identify and apply practical, high-leverage opportunities to apply AI across data engineering and data science
- Guide responsible adoption of AI with attention to reliability, cost, and maintainability
- Operate as a leader who balances hands-on technical execution with coaching, prioritization, and strategic influence
- Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing team of data engineers and data scientists
- Own team structure, role clarity, and long-term capability planning to ensure the data organization scales with Digible’s growth
- Set clear expectations and provide direct, actionable feedback
- Build a culture of ownership, focus, and accountability
- Balance empowerment with delivery standards
- Support career growth while maintaining execution quality
Requirements
- 8–12+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, or data science, including ownership of production systems
- Experience leading teams responsible for modern cloud data stacks (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks)
- Hands-on familiarity with data transformation and orchestration tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Dagster, Prefect)
- Experience building and operating data pipelines and services using Python and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS; alternatives such as GCP or Azure are relevant)
- Experience integrating and managing diverse data sources (e.g., unstructured web data, APIs, event streams, third-party SaaS tools)
- Experience partnering with senior leadership or executive stakeholders to align data strategy with business outcomes and growth initiatives
