About the role

  • Provide support to the ROI People and Organisation Department, working with both staff and volunteers.
  • Be a key member of the people Team, reporting to the ER Specialist.
  • Responsible for the administration support for all ER procedures along with some recruitment of both staff and volunteers.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement by coordinating special projects and deploying HR initiatives.
  • Be the first point of contact for HR queries.
  • Responsible for a suite of office management duties.
  • Liaise with the senior management team and other managers to deliver HR support throughout the organisation.
  • Provide HR advice and support to managers and employees, explaining procedures and policies.
  • Maintain accurate employee and recruitment records on both electronic and paper based.
  • Oversee and support all HR formal processes to conclusion.
  • Process new hires, terminations, probation, absence, and holiday status changes accurately.

Requirements

  • 3rd level qualification or equivalent (ideally relating to HR or Business Support) is desirable
  • A least 2 years’ paid experience in an office management, business administration role.
  • Experience working within a team managing both staff and volunteers.
  • Experience of and knowledge of formal HR processes.
  • Experience of the recruitment of both staff and volunteers.
  • Experience of working within the social care, not for profit sector (desirably within homelessness).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Creative and energetic with the ability to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent negotiating, influencing and people skills.
Benefits
  • Up to 3 years' service: 25 days per year
  • 3 years' up to 5 years' service: 27 days per year
  • Over 5 years' service: 30 working days per year (Exclusive of bank and statutory holidays)
