About the role
- Lead end-to-end project delivery within nuclear and highly regulated environments
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations
- Use Primavera P6 to create, maintain, and monitor project schedules and critical paths
- Administer and manage projects under NEC contracts (e.g., NEC3/NEC4), including early warnings, compensation events, and programme submissions
- Ensure compliance with nuclear safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures
- Proactively manage project risks, issues, and change control processes
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, safety, quality, and commercial stakeholders
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships
- Track and report project performance using KPIs and earned value techniques
- Ensure all deliverables meet technical, safety, and quality expectations
- Support bid and proposal development where required
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in the nuclear, defence, or other highly regulated sectors
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4), including commercial administration
- Hands-on experience with Primavera P6 for project planning and controls
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, APM, PMI)
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering projects
- Knowledge of nuclear safety culture and regulatory frameworks
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a high-pressure environment
- Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
- Project Management certification (e.g., PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM PMQ, PMP) preferred
- Formal training or certification in NEC contract management (desirable)
- Security clearance (or eligibility to obtain) may be required
