About the role
- Lead wine category analytics initiatives to strengthen Delicato’s category leadership
- Use data analytics, consumer/shopper insights, and category expertise to identify opportunities and recommend actions to drive growth
- Develop strong business relationships with assigned customers and act as an advisor for growth recommendations
- Utilize store level data, shopper insights to make assortment and shelf recommendations
- Establish leadership position and build collaborative relationships with key customers
- Consult with and train internal team on assortment and space analytics, software/tools, and best practices
- Advise on new items, deletes, and planner recommendations
- Collaborate on key customer insights and custom projects supporting brand strategies
- Remain aware of inventory levels to ensure product availability
- Increase wine knowledge through continuous education
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business with a Sales, Marketing or Statistics concentration
- Minimum 8+ years of relevant business analysis experience required, with a focus on category management
- Must be able to travel to attend retailer/distributor meetings, sales meetings, and/or market visits
- Fluent in Nielsen/Circana scan data analytics, and other syndicated and custom data
- Familiarity with wine industry depletion, scan, and consumer/shopper data and reporting
- Strong understanding of the CPG industry, retail channels and strategies, including expertise in category management
- Experience with space management tools (e.g. JDA)
- Expert skills in Excel, PowerPoint, multi-dimensional tables, statistical software
- Excellent analytical and data management skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop internal and external business relationships
- Ability to distill complex statistical concepts and communicate insights
- Strong project management skills and ability to plan and prioritize
- Relevant Space Management or Category Management certifications highly desirable
