About the role
- Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by actively participating, taking responsibility, and following established procedures and policies.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and management of DEKRA’s Environmental Services offerings.
- Lead client engagements involving complex, multi-site operations with elevated environmental risk, requiring robust Environmental Management Systems and disciplined execution.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in an array of environmental regulations, standards, and industry best practices, with a focus on Environmental Management Systems (EMS), regulatory compliance, and environmental risk management.
- Advise clients on tools, governance models, and continuous improvement strategies to enhance environmental performance.
- Represent DEKRA at conferences and client events through programmatic and strategic thought leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental studies, EHS, sustainability, engineering, or a related discipline
- 10+ years of environmental or EHS experience in consulting, industry, or regulatory settings, with demonstrated leadership in program development, management systems, or environmental governance.
- ISO 14001 Lead Auditor or equivalent experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic, systems-based environmental guidance rather than transactional technical execution.
- Strong planning and organizational skills; ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Demonstrated client relationship management skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, across all organizational levels.
- Experience with organizational improvement initiatives (e.g., safety, quality).
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex, large-scale projects.
