About the role
- Define and deliver product design across multiple initiatives, ensuring alignment with user needs and business goals. Lead the development of end-to-end features and services that resonate with our users.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and business partners to build coherent, high-quality experiences that are both functional and delightful.
- Champion the Deel UI/Design System strategy, driving adoption through an iterative approach that balances consistency with innovation.
- Rapidly design, prototype, and test new features based on a deep understanding of business, customers and technology, to deliver thoughtful solutions even in the face of ambiguity.
- Provide mentorship to Product Designers, offering constructive feedback to foster growth and skill development. Lead design practice rituals and develop new standards that enhance team efficiency.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to identify bottlenecks, make informed recommendations, and implement improvements that streamline process.
- Navigate ambiguity with ease, driving clarity and actionable insights from complex situations. Equally, balance user and business needs to create solutions that are impactful and strategic.
- Bring people together through inspiring design and narrative. Foster alignment across teams by effectively communicating a design vision and facilitating collaboration.
Requirements
- A deep passion for Product Design and UX Design craft; committed to creating meaningful, impactful user experiences.
- A minimum of 5-7 years as a Product Designer in a fast-paced environment, with at least 2 years leading holistic design as a Staff Product Designer (or equivalent title).
- Strong skills in UI, UX, and visual design, with a proven track record of crafting functional yet delightful customer experiences. Comfortable working through complex flows, creating engaging interfaces, and storytelling through visuals and prototypes.
- Curiosity about AI and emerging technologies; experience designing AI-assisted or AI-powered product experiences or using AI tools as part of your design workflow. A portfolio that includes examples of work related to AI-powered features, AI-assisted workflows, or experiments with AI tools.
- Your design work is deeply rooted in ideation, experimentation and evidence, ensuring that recommendations are always backed by data.
- Able to work at speed while maintaining high-quality and thoughtful solutions; driving clarity from complexity and ambiguity.
- Equally focused on user experience and business objectives, ensuring that design solutions meet both criteria effectively.
- An outstanding communicator who can bring people together, build strong relationships, and gain alignment across teams. Inspires through design and narrative.
- Experienced in mentoring Product Designers, providing guidance that enables them to learn, grow, and progress in their careers.
- Builds strong relationships with cross-functional partners, developing best practices for engagement and collaboration across the organisation.
- Strong knowledge of Payroll and Fintech, with the ability to apply this expertise to deliver impactful design solutions.
- Experienced in being deeply embedded within a development team, working with a light touch from the Product Manager to deliver high-quality outcomes.
