About the role
- Designing and delivering large-scale cloud migration and modernisation programs for customers
- Leading engagements across the full migration lifecycle—from discovery and assessment through to execution
- Conducting portfolio analysis using Azure migration assessment tools
- Applying the 7 R framework to determine optimal migration paths and patterns for customer workloads
- Producing Azure migration assessments, migration plans aligned to the Cloud Adoption Framework
- Delivering migration solutions leveraging Azure tooling such as Azure Migrate, Azure Database Migration Service, and Azure Site Recovery
- Designing scalable Azure Landing Zones and subscription structures
- Leading team members and third parties through complex migration programs
- Developing strong relationships and delivering technical presentations
- Promoting Cloud as a driver for business change
Requirements
- At least 10 years IT experience
- At least 5 years in project delivery and/or consultancy
- Proven track record in delivering large-scale cloud migration and modernisation programs
- Experience leading discovery workshops
- Conducting workload assessments
- Developing migration wave plans
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (required)
- Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
- Hands-on experience with large-scale cloud migrations (500+ workloads preferred)
- Strong understanding of the 7 R framework for workload rationalisation
- Experience with Azure assessment tools: Azure Migrate Discovery and Assessment, Azure TCO Calculator
- Proficiency with Azure migration services: Azure Migrate, Azure Database Migration Service, Azure Site Recovery, Azure Data Box
- Azure Landing Zone deployments using the Cloud Adoption Framework and Landing Zone Accelerators
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for AI and its application to cloud architecture and migration
- Exposure to Azure AI services such as Azure OpenAI Service, Azure Machine Learning, or Microsoft Copilot
- Experience using AI-assisted development or productivity tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
- Technical leadership within project environments
- Customer engagement, governance and steering business outcomes
