About the role

  • Configure, monitor, and optimize database instances on AWS, such as Amazon RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, and others.
  • Install, configure, and parameterize databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Monitor database instance performance and identify bottlenecks to optimize performance.
  • Ensure the integrity, security, and reliability of data stored in the database.
  • Implement backup and data recovery strategies to ensure business continuity and data protection.
  • Maintain scripts and stored procedures to automate routine tasks and ensure data consistency.
  • Manage database scalability as demand grows, using features such as auto-scaling and dynamic provisioning.
  • Work closely with other IT teams to integrate the database with applications and systems.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot database-related issues to ensure continuous system availability.
  • Execute procedures and create/update knowledge base documentation.
  • Create new environments, perform migrations and upgrades, and apply patches.

Requirements

  • + Education: Bachelor's degree completed or in progress
  • Ability to work in a team and strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of at least two DBMSs (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Knowledge of AWS Cloud.
  • + Desirable additional skills: Certifications in the public AWS cloud.
  • Database certifications.
  • Query tuning.
  • + English: Able to write and read emails/documentation, and participate as a listener in meetings and trainings.
