About the role
- Support compliance with industry codes (e.g., AdvaMed, MedTech) and anti-corruption/anti-kickback (e.g., FCPA, UK Bribery Act, AKS) laws and regulations through proactive daily guidance and the development, refinement, and implementation of written standards.
- Conduct training and awareness programs for associates and third parties on ethical conduct, compliance policies, reporting mechanisms and data privacy.
- Conduct risk assessments and monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Oversee and implement IDT’s data privacy program, ensuring compliance with internal company policies and global privacy regulations, e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, PIPEDA, APPI including providing transactional support.
- Serve as the primary privacy lead and liaison partnering across multiple functions (e.g., Sales, Marketing, HR, Product), and including with Senior Management, Legal and Information Security teams to embed privacy-by-design principles and provide solution driven and scalable data privacy advice.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (e.g., Masters of Law, LLM, JD, MBA, or relevant certification) preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in ethics & compliance and data privacy in life sciences, health care, or another highly regulated industry.
- Experience managing effective compliance and data privacy programs.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and influence cross-functional teams.
- Experience in AI, particularly key legal issues related to the use of generative artificial intelligence, and an appetite to develop this further.
- Certifications such as CCEP, CIPP/E, CIPM, or RAC is highly desirable.
