About the role
- Own and drive the product vision, roadmap, and execution for the Contract Funding application
- Lead enhancements to simplify and modernize the contract funding process
- Partner with business and technical teams to convert needs into clear requirements and actionable solutions
- Participate in hands-on development, including coding, programming, file design, updates, and deployment
- Build or update application components based on detailed requirements
- Analyze, test, debug, and maintain code, ensuring strong documentation
- Define system scope and technical objectives by understanding user needs and business goals
- Improve processes, resolve operational challenges, and introduce new functionality, taking timelines, resources, complexity, and dependencies into account
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for the Contract Funding system, covering both business processes and system functionality
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with internal controls, financial standards, and regulatory requirements
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues by assessing business impact, prioritizing fixes, and coordinating testing and validation efforts
- Function as a consultant and platform advocate, optimizing processes and maximizing contract funding capabilities to support business goals
- Work closely with cross-functional teams—including IT, Finance, Operations, Compliance, Sales, and Credit—to deliver efficient, high-value solutions
- Support strategic initiatives through requirements gathering, testing, implementation, and ongoing refinement of solutions
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience
- Minimum of 6 years of firsthand development experience with Java 8+, J2EE, Spring/Spring Boot, JDBC, Hibernate, REST/SOAP APIs, and Tomcat
- Proven experience with multiple languages and frameworks, including Java/J2EE, Struts, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JSP, JSON, XML, SQL (DB2 / PostgreSQL), PL/SQL, Distributed System Design, JavaScript, jQuery, GWT, and Angular
- Strong background in designing and developing Web Services, APIs, and system interfaces
- UI development skills with Angular and/or React, as well as HTML5, CSS3, and XML
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design and coding/design patterns, such as abstract classes, interfaces, and dependency injection
- Experience with DevOps tools, including GitHub/GitLab, Jenkins, and deployment automation
- Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments using Jira and DevOps practices
- Experience with branching strategies and application deployments via T3/Jenkins or similar DevOps pipelines
